Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Temple, TX is seeking an RN to join the Inpatient Dialysis team. Provide specialized inpatient dialysis care in a collaborative, supportive environment with nephrology and critical care colleagues to achieve exceptional patient outcomes.

The position is Full-Time with three 12-hour shifts per week, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and call required. Comprehensive training will be provided, with opportunities to develop dialysis nursing skills within a large health system.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current Texas RN license or compact RN license.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Dialysis experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee patient care as a Procedural Registered Nurse in inpatient dialysis.
  • Assess patients, identify nursing diagnoses, and develop personalized care plans.
  • Delegate tasks based on Texas nursing laws and staff skills.
  • Collaborate with nephrology, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality care.
  • Educate patients and staff; participate in quality improvement initiatives.

About The Department

Our 11-bed Inpatient Dialysis unit provides comprehensive dialysis services to acute care and critically ill patients throughout the hospital. Nurses work closely with nephrologists, intensivists, and multidisciplinary care teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Patient Ratios

Inpatient: 4:1
ICU: 2:1 or 1:1

As a Procedural Registered Nurse, work as a licensed professional using the nursing practice model to oversee patient care. Responsibilities include assessing patients, identifying nursing diagnoses, and developing personalized care plans. Regularly assess patient responses. Contributions help patients navigate healthcare safely by understanding their needs and the system. This prevents complications and delays. Delegate tasks based on Texas nursing laws, patient conditions, and staff skills.
