Job summary

East Alabama Medical Center in Alabama seeks a qualified registered nurse to provide safe, holistic therapy and educate patients and families throughout the care continuum. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice and medication administration in line with standard nursing care.

The candidate must hold an Alabama RN license with an Associate degree in nursing, plus 2 years of acute care experience. ACLS/BLS/PALS/NIHSS certifications are required or pursued per policy.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing or equivalent.
• 2 years recent acute care experience.
• Required Registration/License/Certification (RN license in Alabama).
• ACLS must be obtained within 1 year of hire date.
• BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire date.
• PALS within 1 year of hire date (if required in work area).
• NIHSS within 90 days of hire/transfer (EAH to assist with certification completion).
• Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field.
• Preferred Experience: 5 years of Perioperative experience.
• Preferred Registration/License/Certification: (as applicable).

Responsibilities

• Provides safe therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way.
• Incorporates differences into care; educates patients and families.
• Administers medications according to standard nursing practice.
• Uses standards, guidelines, protocols for care delivery and improves practice.
• Assumes responsibility for self-development.
