Job summary

U.S. District Court, District of Arizona is seeking Probation Officer Assistant(s) in Phoenix, Tucson, Flagstaff, and Yuma to support probation officers with investigations, reporting, and case management. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree and one year of specialized experience.

Preference for Spanish language ability and a master's degree. The selection process includes background checks, medical examination, and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field such as criminal justice, criminology, psychology, sociology, human relations, or business/public administration.
• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the CL-23 to work at the CL-24.

Responsibilities

• Draft and submit selected reports and maintain related investigative files and case records.
• Assist probation officers in presentence or bail investigations and record checks.
• Visit local, state, and national agencies to collect information and assist in probation reports.
• Schedule, conduct and monitor urinalysis collection and maintain related records.
• Maintain chain of custody and inventory of testing materials and data in the office system.
• Testify before the court or Parole Commission as required.
• Cover court hearings and maintain chronological records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
