Job summary

Navajo County in Arizona seeks a Surveillance Officer to provide surveillance and supportive casework for probationers under the Superior Court. You will monitor probationers and conduct home or work site visits as part of a team to ensure compliance with probation terms.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate equipment such as motor vehicles, computers and radios.
• Self-control, patience, tact and diplomacy to maintain relationships.
• Strong interviewing and motivator skills and interpersonal relationships.
• Time management and organization applying correctional casework principles.

Responsibilities

• Perform structured surveillance and observe probationers for compliance with conditions.
• Maintain and file identification records and prepare written reports for the probation officer.
• Direct probationers to community resources and interventions as needed.
• Appear in court and testify when required.
• Monitor restitution and probation fees and notify victims as required.
