Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited institution.
• Professional writing is an essential function of the role.
• Must become Texas Risk Assessment System (TRAS) certified within the first two attempts.
• Meet CJIS access requirements and other state mandates.
• Must have a valid Texas Class C Driver's License or Texas ID.
• Application must include all past employment; certified transcripts may be requested.

Responsibilities

• Administers TRAS components to assess clients on the CAST team.
• Reviews collateral information from criminal justice databases for assessments.
• Conducts client interviews in person or virtually with professional judgment.
• Scores the TRAS tool based on interview and collateral findings.
• Writes detailed, professional assessment reports with findings and recommendations.
• Formulates supervision and intervention recommendations shared with Court/CSCD.
• Ensures accurate entries in electronic case management systems.
• Travels to Court, jail, or other Harris County locations as needed.
• Testsify in court as required.
• Maintains effective communication with judges, attorneys, and staff.
