Job summary

Missouri Department of Corrections is seeking qualified staff to supervise offenders in housing units and various activities, ensuring safety and order within facilities. The role includes interviewing offenders, maintaining records, and coordinating with other departments to support rehabilitation and compliant operations.

The position requires passing a background check, being at least 18 years old, and holding a valid driver’s license; additional duties include after-hours support and shift

Qualifications

• Must be a minimum of 18 years old
• AND a valid vehicle operator's license
• Ability to pass a background investigation

Responsibilities

• Supervises offenders in housing units and activities in Community Supervision Centers
• Checks and inspects housing units for safety and security violations; prepares reports on offender behavior
• Interviews offenders to verify background information and maintains records of investigations
• Retrieves information from NCIC, MULES and other databases; responds to warrants and takes appropriate action
• Photographs and issues IDs to offenders; assists with job searches and electronic monitoring arrangements
• Maintains shift records, inventories and logs; troubleshoots equipment and handles emergency calls
• Oversees offender movement; intervenes in emergencies; monitors medication consumption; supports rehabilitation efforts
• Provides after-hours assistance; orders supplies; follows policies; performs related duties as assigned
