Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections – Corrections Services in New Orleans is seeking a supervisory Probation and Parole Officer with OPS leadership to oversee officers handling probation, parole, pardon, and work release activities. This promotional position requires federal and state compliance awareness and strong personnel management.

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in corrections, substantial supervision duties, and a POST certification.

Competenze

• Three years of experience as a probation or parole officer, or in counseling, psychology, social work, education, criminal justice, or administrative services, plus one of: three years in corrections or law enforcement; three years of active military duty; six years in any field; or a bachelor’s degree.

Mansioni

• Provide guidance, supervision, and audits to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of casework and investigations.
• Coordinate and supervise Probation and Parole Officers in violations process, arrests, transport, probable cause, and revocation hearings.
• Monitor subordinates' casework, enforce conditions, and recommend treatment plans when needed.
• Conduct new employee orientation and ongoing training for field personnel and specialists.
