Job summary

Chester County Probation Department seeks an Adult Probation Officer Specialist to supervise high-risk individuals under court-ordered supervision. The role emphasizes risk assessments, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed practices to protect the community.

You will testify in court, prepare reports, and coordinate referrals to treatment programs while maintaining strict confidentiality and accurate documentation. The position requires strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of probation/parole or related experience.
• Complete the Adult Probation and Parole Basic Training Academy and Defensive Tactics Training within six months.
• Certification to complete CRN evaluations within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Supervise high risk/high need individuals and monitor compliance with court conditions.
• Maintain professional contact with families, victims, law enforcement, court, and providers.
• Gather information via interviews with clients, victims, and others as needed.
• Testify in court with fidelity and minimal oversight.
• Refer individuals to treatment and monitor participation and progress.
• Document case information accurately and timely.
• Promote teamwork and participate in trainings and meetings.
