Qualifikationen

• Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.
• Substitution of Experience for Education: Full-time relevant professional experience, to include law enforcement experience, may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.
• Necessary Special Qualifications: Applicants for this class must: carry and use assigned weapons; be at least eighteen; be a U.S. citizen; have good moral character; complete a criminal history disclosure form; release records; provide fingerprint sample; have no felony or disqualifying convictions; pass medical/psychological evaluations; pass a drug screen; possess a valid driver’s license; complete Tennessee Correction Academy training.

Aufgaben

• Prepares and maintains offenders' records and reports; prepares narrative reports of the investigation process; total caseload activities when preparing monthly reports.
• Monitors the offenders under their supervision to ensure compliance with release requirements.
• Interviews probationers and parolees regularly to evaluate progress and searches state, local, and federal databases for incidents and information.
• Conducts pre-hearing and pre-release investigations and testifies in court and parole hearings; conducts searches of residences, vehicles, and persons as required.
• Liaises with judges, court personnel, law enforcement and other agencies concerned with the probation/parole program.
• Interacts with coworkers and offenders to maintain a respectful environment.
• Addresses non-compliance with sanctions and, if needed, writes warrants/reports to Courts or Board.
• Supervises probationers on community-based sentences and conducts field supervision including drug/alcohol tests.
