Job summary

Missouri Department of Corrections is seeking qualified individuals for a supervisory and casework oriented role within the corrections system. You will engage offenders in their homes or facilities, assess risk and needs, and prepare reports for court authorities.

Responsibilities include offender supervision, counseling, and collaboration with public agencies; a valid vehicle operator's license is required; safety training is provided.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of experience as a Probation & Parole Assistant, Correctional Officer, or Office Support Assistant or above within the Missouri Department of Corrections.
• Four+ years of vocational/paraprofessional experience in social services, probation and parole, corrections, law enforcement, or related fields.
• Earned college credits may substitute on a year-for-year basis at 30 credit hours per year.

Responsibilities

• Investigates offenders' home/work environments and collects data for reports to legal authorities.
• Counsels offenders in their homes, on job sites, or in confinement and attends court.
• Assists in planning vocational/educational/social adjustment for offenders and coordinates with agencies.
