Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Corrections, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Counseling, Education, Law, or related field.
• One year of related experience or completed a full-time internship (minimum duration of one semester or 10 weeks or 400 hours) in a probation department or a minimum of 400 hours of work/volunteer experience as a probation officer or corrections staff, or two years of supervising offenders.
• Must possess a valid driver s license; selection may include criminal history screening.

Responsibilities

• Supervise juveniles and adults placed under supervision, including community contacts.
• Complete Pre-Sentence Investigations, Pre-Dispositional Studies, and related assessments (YLS, DRA, LS-CMI).
• Maintain CSTS data and document contacts with clients; provide background information to the criminal justice system.
• Develop case plans and enforce rules with appropriate legal sanctions; arrange placements for juveniles as needed.
