Job summary

Gila County in Payson, AZ seeks a Probation Officer I to provide casework services to probationers under direction of the Superior Court. You will supervise caseloads, meet probations in homes or schools, conduct interviews and investigations, and prepare reports for the court.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in behavioral sciences or related field per ACJA 6-106(F)(3).
• Must successfully complete Probation Certification Academy and Intensive Probation Institute within 12 months of employment.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
• Knowledge of: criminal justice system, community resources, diversion, probation and community corrections, and evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities

• Supervise caseloads of assigned probationers and conduct home/work visits.
• Perform interviews, investigations, and prepare written reports for the court.
• Assist in case review conferences and coordinate with needed community resources.
• Respond to field contacts and testify in court when required.
