Job summary

New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an organized, customer-service oriented individual to join the Office of Probation Services, Intensive Supervision Program (ISP) in the Northern Regional Office (Paterson, NJ). The role requires handling technical and client support in a fast-paced office and field environment.

The ISP program supervises adults and juveniles in the community. Travel to the Central Office (Trenton) and other Judiciary locations may be required; the workweek is 40 hours with nights

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and one year of paraprofessional experience in probation or community development.
• Substitution rules allow equivalence with related paraprofessional or professional experience.
• Must be able to pass background checks and obtain a driver’s license if required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ISP assessments and assist ISP field supervision officers in developing community sponsors, network teams, group and individual community service sites, and employment opportunities for applicants and participants in the ISP program.
• May supervise a caseload of in-patient/residential placement participants.
• Assist field officers in verifying curfews, treatment and community service attendance.
• Conduct ISP intakes and have participants sign conditions of ISP.
• Coordinate volunteer services of ISP graduates.
• Responsible for covering field officers’ caseloads in their absence.
• Perform other related duties as required.
• Serve as primary and/or backup to handle ISP Screening Board responsibilities.
• Serve as lead during ISP Screening Board interviews.
• Travel, attend and complete necessary paperwork and reports related to ISP Screening Board interviews.
• Coordinate with community volunteers and the Department of Corrections to schedule and conduct Screening Board Interviews.
