Job summary

Pima County is seeking Surveillance Officers to provide surveillance and supportive casework to probationers on the Adult Probation team, working with Probation Officers to monitor compliance and guide probationers toward terms of their conditions. This is a shift-based position with opportunities for evening, night and weekend work.

The role is safety-sensitive and requires passing background checks, polygraph and psychological examinations, plus completing a 40-hour Defensive Tactics Training

Qualifications

• Be a United States citizen or legal resident.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must complete 40-hour Defensive Tactics Training within 120 days.
• Must pass background/reference checks, interviews, polygraph and/or drug testing, and pre-Employment psychological examinations.

Responsibilities

• Performs surveillance and field contacts to monitor probation compliance as a team member.
• Obtains, assembles, secures and files identification records and prepares written reports for the probation officer.
• Builds relationships to encourage compliant behavior and directs probationers to community resources/treatments when needed.
• Appears and testifies in court and handles searches, arrests, and related duties.
