Job summary

Tarrant County is seeking a Community Supervision Officer I to assist in daily CSCD operations, supervising probationers and defendants to promote rehabilitation and compliance with court orders. You will execute risk assessments, monitor compliance, and prepare reports while coordinating with related agencies.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, state certification within a year, CJAD training, and a valid license. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Must pass State certification within one year of employment.
• Meets CJAD training hour requirement.
• Valid driver’s license and liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Meets regularly with probationers/defendants to ensure compliance with court-ordered conditions.
• Conducts state-mandated risk assessments and other assessments as appropriate to determine needs.
• Conducts home and field visits to monitor behavior in the community.
• Maintains case management files and documents all interactions with probationers/defendants.
• Prepares violation reports and modifications, attends necessary court proceedings, and testifies as needed.
• Maintains records in compliance with standards, grant conditions, and departmental policies.
• Communicates with referral agencies and victims as needed.
• Completes presentence investigations reports.
• Runs computerized criminal history reports, orders arrest reports, and conducts drivers’ license checks.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.
