Job summary

Lowe’s Companies, Inc. in Edwardsville, IL is hiring a Security Associate to maintain a proactive security presence across the store and distribution areas.

You will validate access controls, patrol premises, and respond to incidents in coordination with franchise leadership and local law enforcement as needed. The role requires 1–2 years in retail security (or related fields), a valid driver’s license and security license, with certification in First Aid preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years in retail security or related field.
• 1-2 years in big-box retail security or military experience.
• Valid driver's license and security license.
• First-Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security and safety presence in the location.
• Validate building security per Lowe’s policy throughout the day.
• Engage with drivers and inbound/outbound processes per policy.
• Perform regular safety and physical security audits.
• Conduct patrols of interior and exterior areas.
• De-escalate situations using professional techniques.
• Respond promptly to incidents and emergencies.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain leadership to enforce policies.
• Report suspicious behavior or breaches to leadership.
• Use case management system for detailed incident reports.
• Utilize CCTV to monitor activities.
• Attend monthly Safety Team meetings.
• Maintain required certifications and licenses.
• Participate in court hearings if applicable.
