Job summary

Bordner Home Improvement is seeking an organized Accounting Assistant focused on Accounts Receivable and Collections. You will own daily AR activities, pursue past-due accounts, and coordinate with internal teams to resolve payment issues while maintaining accurate records.

The role requires initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to have difficult conversations about money. This on-site position offers growth and a supportive environment within a 40-year, family-owned company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year in accounting, AR, collections, payroll, bookkeeping, or related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication; detail-oriented and organized.

Responsibilities

• Own daily AR activities: invoicing, payment tracking, account reconciliations, and outstanding balances.
• Proactively pursue past-due accounts via calls and emails.
• Contact customers about overdue invoices and collect payments; follow up on promises.
• Reconcile accounts and assist with month-end tasks; prepare reports for management.
• Maintain accurate financial records and protect confidentiality; collaborate with payroll and accounting teams.
