The Department of Special Education and Clinical Sciences is one ofthree academic departments in the College of Education (COE). It iscomprised of four major programs: Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA),Communication Disorders and Sciences (CDS), School Psychology(SPSY), and Special Education (SPED). The Department offers degreesfrom undergraduate to master's and doctoral, as well as licensureand endorsement programs. The Special Education and ClinicalSciences Department is involved in collaborative efforts among allCOE departments and institutes to support research across theCollege, outreach activities, and core requirements for themaster's and doctoral programs.

Position Summary

The University of Oregon's Special Education and Clinical Sciences(SPECS) Department in the College of Education is seeking qualifiedapplicants for its open pro-tem practicum supervisor pool. Thedepartment is accepting applications for supervisors in EarlyIntervention and SPED K12.

Supervisors will provide individual coaching and feedback tostudents enrolled in Special Education programs during practicumand student teaching experiences. Appointment level varies, basedon supervisory load. Hours vary depending on the schedules ofgraduate students under supervision; travel to field placementsites around the state of Oregon is required. Positions arelimited-duration appointments, potentially renewable for up to atotal of three years. Appointments may range from one to threeterms per year, including summer.

Minimum Requirements

• Master's degree in special education/early childhood specialeducation (or closely related discipline) and currently hold, orhave held, a teaching license in the appropriate subject area inOregon or in another state, or Oregon Department of Education EarlyIntervention/Early Childhood Special Education Authorization.
• Three years of teaching or supervision experience at theappropriate level and/or content area.
