The Pro Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of one or more golf facilities.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the pro-shop environment including golf fees, cart rentals, driving range, merchandising, and concessions in compliance with laws.
- Participate in staff hiring, training, performance evaluations, and discipline procedures.
- Oversee facility appearance, identify safety issues, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Plan and coordinate work plans, goals, and policies; resolve problems and evaluate work methods.
- Use HRIS system for scheduling, payroll, and time management.
- Train staff on cash handling, POS system, and transaction accuracy.
- Manage daily cash transactions, end-of-day reporting, and bank deposits.
- Control inventory, handle purchasing, and manage budgets for each site.
- Read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Act as liaison with golf clubs, ensuring course policies are communicated.
- Provide excellent customer service and handle resident inquiries and complaints.
- Maintain attendance and punctuality, and work flexible schedules.
- Other duties as assigned.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Valid Arizona driver’s license and good driving record.
- Food Handlers Card within 30 days of hire.
- Arizona Title 4 Basic Liquor Law Training Certification within 30 days of hire.
- Food Protection Manager certification.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise and direct staff, including hiring, training, evaluating, and disciplining.
Education and/or Experience
- Golf course management experience or PGA membership preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or recreation, or equivalent experience (minimum 5 years).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word.
- Two years supervisory experience in golf operations required.
- Knowledge of golf course operations, leagues, and marketing.
Physical Demands
Work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and 100 pounds with assistance.
Work Environment
Indoor and outdoor settings, moderate to loud noise levels, with flexibility to work in various venues.
