Job summary

Shell Bay Club in Hallandale, FL, is seeking a Pro Shop Attendant to deliver outstanding guest service and sales in a fast-paced golf environment.

You will support merchandising, reservations, and event preparation while maintaining displays and inventory. Experience in retail and tennis knowledge is valuable, with opportunities for growth within Troon’s global golf and hospitality network.

Qualifications

• English reading/speaking ability may be required to communicate with customers and co-workers.
• Active tennis player with knowledge of the game.
• Retail sales experience preferred.
• Computer proficiency including Jonas POS and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service while selling merchandise and assisting with reservations and events.
• Perform opening and closing procedures for the shop as determined by management.
• Handle POS transactions accurately and collect applicable fees.
• Assist with inventory and merchandising displays and general shop cleanliness.

We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part ofTroon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

General Purpose:

Offers superior customer service while selling merchandise and assisting management in merchandising, inventory control, reservations, and special events preparation.

• Performs opening and closing procedures for the shop or store as determined by management.
• Responsible for accountability of POS transactions made.
• Collects applicable fees from members/guests and outside patrons as they arrive.
• Makes court, clinic, lesson and special event reservations, in person or by phone.
• Assists guests by selling merchandise and providing information in a professional manner.
• Assists with rotating stock and keeping displays clean and orderly.
• Assists with general cleaning of the shop or store.
• Assist shop supervisor with creating appealing displays.
• Assists with monthly physical inventories.
• May work with coaches to facilitate orderly start and play times.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required/needed.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands:

Frequently stands and uses hands; reaches with hands and arms, talks or hears. Regularly walks, sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches. Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:

• Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
• Active tennis player with knowledge of the game.
• Retail sales experience is preferred.
• Computer proficiency including but not limited to Jonas POS, Microsoft Office applications, social media and other programs related to tennis such as tennisdirector.com.
