Job description

The Pro Shop Assistant supports the operation and maintenance of the municipal golf shop and golf course. Responsibilities include assisting golfers, maintaining records, and performing related duties as assigned. Work is conducted under the supervision of the Golf Course Supervisor, with ongoing oversight of team personnel.

Additional pay is offered for work done in the following capacities:

• Tournament Management and Golf Club Repair: $3.00/hour
• Golf Instruction: $4.00/hour
• Social Media Management and Website Design: $5.00/hour

Shifts: Primarily weekends and some weekdays during daylight hours.

Essential Functions:

• Assist in daily operations of the golf course and pro shop
• Record registrations and fees using the Point of Sale system
• Maintain the golf course and pro shop, including custodial and golf cart upkeep
• Enforce golf course rules and regulations
• Handle administrative tasks such as inquiries, complaints, and correspondence
• Provide customer service and assistance

Attend meetings and workshops as directed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Knowledge of municipal golf course practices, methods, and policies
• Computer skills for reservations, check-ins, sales, and reporting
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to establish good working relationships

Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED

Preferred Experience:

• Golf club repair and fitting
• Organizing and managing golf tournaments and outings
• Developing golf programs and events
• Teaching golf to adults and youth
• Managing golf course operations
• Social media content creation and webpage management using HTML

Special Requirements:

• Basic First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications (training provided if needed)
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory record

Physical demands include exerting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, sitting, climbing, and other physical activities. Work environment includes outdoor conditions and moderate noise levels.
