A Kight Home Center, a division of Carter Lumber, is seeking an Operations Manager to run a professional lumberyard. The role focuses on meeting sales goals, controlling costs, and managing inventory and staff to support pro customers.

Responsibilities include coordinating store operations, leading staff, and driving inside sales while maintaining strong contractor relationships. The position requires flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays, and a commitment to safety and continuous

Qualifications

• Experience in a pro building materials store.
• Proven ability to work with contractors and trade customers.
• Experience analyzing store inventory and movement.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities and team management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Outgoing personality with ability to build client relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and implement all aspects of store operations for a pro-oriented lumberyard, ensuring policy compliance and efficient yard, office, and inventory management.
• Direct and manage all store staff activities, schedules, training, discipline, and performance, providing coaching as needed.
• Lead inside sales initiatives, monitor sales and profit targets, and ensure accountability for achieving business goals.
• Identify growth and learning needs, complete safety training, and promote ongoing product and process education for staff.
