Executive Director Opportunity
Lead a life-affirming mission across Greater San Antonio
The San Antonio Coalition for Life is seeking a mission-driven Executive Director to lead the organization’s strategy, programs, operations, and community presence. Reporting to the Board of Directors, this leader will mobilize staff, volunteers, donors, churches, and community partners to advance a culture of life throughout Greater San Antonio.
The Executive Director serves as SACFL’s chief staff leader and public representative. The right candidate will combine a deep commitment to protecting human life with practical nonprofit leadership, strong communication, sound judgment, and the ability to turn plans into results.
This currently is a part-time position, but a right candidate is highly desired for full-time work to grow the staff. Pay is highly commensurate with skills and demonstrated experience
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Board to set strategic priorities, carry out approved plans, and provide timely reports on programs, finances, opportunities, and risks.
- Lead day-to-day operations and ensure that programs, policies, procedures, and use of resources remain aligned with SACFL’s mission and approved budget.
- Recruit, train, organize, and support staff, contractors, and volunteers; delegate clearly and maintain consistent standards of conduct and performance.
- Lead fundraising and donor stewardship, including individual giving, grants, campaigns, sponsorships, and SACFL’s annual banquet.
- Oversee 40 Days for Life campaigns, sidewalk outreach, educational events, church engagement, and other initiatives that encourage prayer, service, and public participation.
- Build productive relationships with pregnancy resource centers, abortion-recovery ministries, churches, civic leaders, donors, media, and other community partners.
- Serve as a knowledgeable and composed spokesperson through public presentations, media interviews, written communications, and community events.
- Oversee marketing and communications, including the website, email, social media, print materials, and timely promotion of programs and events.
- Work with the Board Treasurer and appropriate professional support to maintain sound financial controls, accurate records, budgets, forecasts, donor acknowledgments, and required nonprofit filings.
- Track program activity and outcomes, evaluate effectiveness, and recommend improvements that strengthen SACFL’s reach and long-term sustainability.
Qualifications
- A clear and unwavering commitment to SACFL’s pro-life mission and to serving women, men, children, and families with compassion and respect.
- Demonstrated leadership in a nonprofit, ministry, advocacy organization, small business, or comparable mission-driven setting.
- Experience in fundraising, donor relations, grant development, sponsorships, or major events, with the ability to build lasting supporter relationships.
- Ability to manage budgets, priorities, projects, people, and deadlines with integrity, discretion, and attention to detail.
- Strong written, verbal, public-speaking, and interpersonal communication skills, including confidence representing the organization before the media and community groups.
- Ability to work effectively with an active Board of Directors and a largely volunteer team.
- Working knowledge of current pro-life issues and the willingness to stay informed about relevant national, Texas, and local developments.
- Comfort with common office, donor-management, email, website, and social-media tools.
Leadership Profile
We are looking for a leader who is dependable, resourceful, collaborative, and ready to be visible in the community. This role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on execution. The Executive Director must be able to inspire others, address challenges directly, protect the organization’s credibility, and follow through on commitments.
