Job summary

Immigration Institute of the Bay Area in San Francisco seeks a Pro Bono Director to lead pro bono programs and partnerships. You will collaborate with the Executive Director and Legal Director to expand pro bono support from firms, corporations, and educational institutions across the Bay Area.

The role focuses on expanding citizenship and DACA clinics, managing volunteers, and developing internship and fellowship pathways.

Qualifications

• Admitted and in good standing with any U.S. State Bar.
• Commitment to serve immigrants and sensitivity to the needs of low‑income communities.
• Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills required.
• Able to work independently with initiative.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships and recruit pro bono volunteers and fellows.
• Coordinate and manage pro bono clinics with firms and organizations.
• Increase capacity to host law firms with mentorship and staff support.
• Respond to inquiries from attorneys and educational institutions.
• Recruit, screen and coordinate pro bono attorneys and students.
• Attend strategy meetings with other pro-bono coordinators.
• Devise outreach plans and marketing materials for pro bono programs.
• Collaborate with Development Director to advance fundraising goals.
• Develop legal expertise for naturalization and DACA workshops.
• Supervise naturalization and DACA workshops and clinic materials.
• Support pro se asylum workshops and track participation.
• Supervise the Pro Bono team and volunteers.
• Coordinate onboarding of law clerks and fellows.
• Work with Grant Director to fund the program.
• Track program data to demonstrate impact.
