Job summary

Akumin is hiring a PRN Radiologic (X-Ray) Technologist for our Tampa, FL facilities. The position requires producing diagnostic radiographs and assisting licensed practitioners in procedures, with flexibility to cover shifts as needed.

You should have ARRT certification, a state license, CPR/BLS, and strong patient service skills. This role involves travel between local sites and requires attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• ARRT (R) certification.
• State license, if applicable required.
• CPR Certification, BLS from AHA or ARC; ACLS where applicable.
• Valid state driver’s license, as applicable required.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational, multi-tasking, and critical thinking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
• Local travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Administer ionizing radiation to obtain diagnostic exams as ordered by the physician and ensure compliance.
• Demonstrate competency with differing X-ray equipment; communicate with patients and radiologists.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant confidentiality and address patient concerns.
• Proficient in EMR, PACS, and DICOM systems for image sharing and interpretation.
• Train and orient new technologists and staff; participate in education activities.
• Other duties as assigned by leadership.
