Job summary

Akumin is hiring an X-ray Technologist for a PRN Float role at our Tampa, FL facilities. The candidate will administer ionizing radiation for diagnostic exams, maintain high quality standards, and work across multiple sites.

Requirements include ARRT (R), state license if applicable, CPR/BLS, and a valid driver’s license. The ideal candidate offers strong customer service, adaptability to travel, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• ARRT (R) certification and state license required or applicable.
• CPR Certification/BLS from AHA or ARC.
• Valid state driver’s license; ability to work at several locations.
• Strong customer service skills and organizational, multi-tasking, and critical thinking abilities.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Administer ionizing radiation to obtain diagnostic exams per physician orders, complying with legal requirements and restrictions.
• Demonstrate competency across different X-ray equipment; communicate with patients and radiologists.
• Maintain quality levels meeting customer expectations through teamwork and process improvement.
• Demonstrate proficiency with EMR, PACS, and DICOM for image sharing and interpretation.
• Train and orient new technologists and patient coordinators; complete site-specific competencies.
