Job summary

Novant Health Urgent Care is seeking an X-Ray Technologist to operate radiographic equipment and produce X-ray images to aid diagnosis, with responsibilities including triage and rooming of patients and taking vitals.

The ideal candidate has a radiographic technology degree, SC licensure, and a commitment to safety, infection control, and patient care in a fast-paced environment. PRN shifts and weekend availability required.

Qualifications

• 1-year degree in Radiographic technology
• Current SC license for radiographic technology
• Limited Practice Radiographer-General Certification accepted
• Trained in OSHA/HIPAA compliance
• Willing to work 12 hour shifts and weekends
• Willing to work at other centers as needed
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to reflect our mission, vision, and values through actions and conduct

Responsibilities

• Responsible for center cleanliness and positive customer service.
• Prepares patients for radiologic procedures and protects safety.
• Takes X-rays, adjusts radiographic controls and processes films.
• Maintains records including patient records, logs and monthly reports.
• Performs quantity and quality control checks on the X-ray unit.
• Cleans and maintains radiographic equipment and reports repairs.
• Answers incoming calls and schedules appointments.
• Relays physician messages and test results to patients.
• Informs providers of abnormal labs/tests.
• Maintains infection control in exam rooms and coordinates patient flow.
• Recognizes patient distress and acts appropriately.
