Job summary

The Chateau at Brooklyn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center seeks a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our geriatric-focused team in a skilled nursing facility. The RT will assess, initiate therapies, and document care, operating independently to support residents.

Candidates must hold a COARC-accredited AS or BS in Respiratory Care and be licensed as RRT or CRT, with BLS certification. Weekend Saturday-Sunday coverage is required as part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain or rehab patients.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility.
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Performs related duties as required.
