Job summary

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join a skilled nursing facility team serving geriatric residents. The candidate must be licensed in the state, able to evaluate and treat independently, and willing to participate in resident-focused rehabilitation activities.

Responsibilities include assessments, initiating therapies, bedside treatments, documentation, and IDT participation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• BLS certification and state licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques for rehabilitation of various illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate and check equipment.
• Complete bedside treatments as prescribed.
• Provide in-services for nursing staff on a quarterly basis.
• Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in long-term care settings.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Performs tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Performs related duties as required.
