Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System seeks a Supplemental Physical Therapist for PRN weekend coverage. The role includes evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, mentoring staff, and supporting ongoing program development within the rehabilitation services team.

The PT must hold a Texas license and a DPT with residency/fellowship for direct-access scenarios, plus BLS certification. Weekend availability and flexibility to move within care areas are required.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelors or graduate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current license to practice Physical Therapy in Texas or via PT Compact Commission.
• Current Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Direct access PT requires Doctoral degree with residency/fellowship OR licensed therapist with 30 hours of continuing competence in differential diagnosis.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop/initiate treatment plans based on evaluations.
• Document findings, progress and provide patient/caregiver instructions.
• Mentor and supervise assistants, students, interns and technicians.
• Serve as clinical resource; participate in program development and department committees.
