Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Technologist for the Oviedo Outpatient Imaging location. You will perform high-quality vascular and abdominal ultrasound exams, verify patient identity, and document results.

Collaboration with physicians and a multidisciplinary team is essential to ensure accurate diagnoses. Responsibilities include managing exam workflows, maintaining equipment, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of vascular anatomy and physiology required.
• Vascular and abdominal sonography procedures required.
• Carotid, vascular, and pre/post operative imaging proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Attends department meetings and engages in positive dialogue to support department objectives.
• Obtains high-quality scans by following proper exam protocols and adapting procedures to each patient's medical situation.
• Confirms patient and exam accuracy using two patient identifiers before administering exams.
• Performs, documents, and reports all procedures in accordance with departmental policy.
• Reviews images and completes ultrasound worksheets and/or reports promptly; re-scan as needed.
• Communicates and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team, notifying physicians of abnormal findings.
• Utilizes computer systems to update exam status, manage orders, and ensure accurate charges.
• Operates ultrasound equipment safely, adhering to infection control standards.
• Performs full range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures and rotates between departments as needed.
• Assists with clinical instructions and serves as a resource to less experienced employees.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and contributes to process improvement initiatives.
