Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital is seeking a Unit Secretary in St. Louis North. The role supports patient care units by handling clerical tasks, transcription of orders, and communications with nursing leadership for efficient unit operation.

The PRN position offers day or night shifts 7pm-7am or 7am-7pm, with a $22 PRN rate plus $1.50 night shift differential. On-site posting located inside Christian Northeast Hospital, MO.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with medical files and terminology.

Responsibilities

• Answering the telephone and delivering messages.
• Transcribing orders accurately and filing reports.
• Coordinate transportation and follow-up testing as needed.
• Maintain communication with Charge Nurse/House Supervisor.
• Order supplies and verify physician privileges prior to transcribing orders.
• Arrange transport for tests not offered in-house.
