Job summary

Bronson Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists in Kalamazoo, MI seeks an Ultrasound Technologist for a part-time, PRN role. The position requires ultrasound/sonography education, ARDMS eligibility, and the ability to perform diagnostic scans with high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include operating ultrasound equipment, ensuring accuracy, maintaining equipment, and training junior staff while upholding safety and quality standards within the department.

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an accredited Ultrasound/Sonography school or completion of an accredited program.
• Must have a Certificate of Completion of a Hospital-based program or an Associate’s degree in Radiology.
• Six months to a year of on-the-job clinical experience and training.
• BLS required within 6–12 months after hire.
• Registry-eligible or ARDMS in OB/GYN and Abdomen; complete all registries within 12 months.
• Breast center: ARRT Breast or ARDMS in Breast; fulfill registries within 9–12 months.

Responsibilities

• Operate and perform ultrasound scans using high-frequency machines to image organs, masses, and fluids.
• Review patient information and instruct patients on the examination to be performed.
• Position patients to obtain specified results for diagnoses and ensure patient comfort.
• Maintain sterile technique and cleanliness of procedure rooms and equipment.
• Document patient and file information accurately and monitor supply levels.
• Lead or mentor student technologists and new Ultrasound Technologists as assigned.
