Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Ultrasound Technologist to support the Atrium Health Pineville and Ballantyne Emergency Department network in Charlotte, NC. This role prioritizes coordinating ultrasound exams with nursing units and physicians, and requires proficiency with ultrasound equipment in a fast-paced ED setting.

Qualified candidates will be ARDMS/ARRT certified and hold BLS, with preferred completion of a diagnostic ultrasound program.

Qualifications

• Certified by ARDMS or ARRT(S) required.
• Graduate of a comprehensive medical diagnostic ultrasound program preferred.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes and coordinates ultrasound exams with nursing units, radiologists, and referring physicians.
• Performs ultrasound exams in accordance to departmental protocols and standards.
• Provides adequate patient care as it relates to the exam requested.
• Operates ultrasound and associated equipment with proficiency.
• Reports malfunctioning equipment to the Assistant Director, Lead Sonographer and/or Engineer.
• Maintains Radiology computer system entries for exams and supplies.
• Keeps work area neat and supplies stocked and adheres to departmental rules and professional conduct.
