Job summary

Atrium Health Ballantyne Emergency Department and Providence Emergency Department seeks a certified ultrasound technologist to perform ultrasound exams, coordinate with radiologists and nursing units, and ensure high-quality imaging in a fast-paced ED environment.

You will operate ultrasound equipment, assist radiologists in invasive procedures, maintain equipment, and uphold patient-centered care while complying with department policies.

Qualifications

• Certified by the ARDMS or ARRT in sonography (or equivalent).
• Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical ultrasound program preferred.
• BLS certification is required by policy guidelines.
• Interpersonal skills and patient-centered care are essential.

Responsibilities

• Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient.
• Assists Radiologist in performance of invasive procedures.
• Evaluates technical quality of exam and develops superior technique for efficiency.
• Supports the Patient-Centered Care Philosophy and treats patients with care.
• Reports malfunctioning equipment to leadership or engineering.
• Operates the Radiology computer system, entering charges for exams and supplies.
• Maintains a neat, stocked work area and adheres to department rules.
