Job summary

Eye Surgery Center of Elizabethtown is seeking a Surgical Technician on a PRN basis to support the Operating Room team in Elizabethtown, KY. You will assist surgeons, nurses and assistants and help maintain a sterile, efficient OR.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, with 2 years OR experience preferred and CST/BLS certificates as applicable. The environment emphasizes patient safety and adherence to regulations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Two (2) years of hospital main operating room experience preferred.
• Certified Surgical Technician (CST) certification preferred; Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in surgical operations under the supervision of Surgeons, Registered Nurses and Surgical Assistants.
• Prepares, cares for and disposes of specimens taken for laboratory analysis.
• Opens sterile packs and prepares instruments according to sterile technique.
• Helps prepare Operating Room by setting up instruments and ensuring equipment works properly.
