Job summary

Eye Surgery Center of Elizabethtown in Elizabethtown, KY is seeking a Surgical Technician to assist surgeons, nurses and assistants in the operating room. The role emphasizes patient safety, sterile technique and teamwork in a fast paced environment.

This PRN position offers daytime hours within a Monday–Friday schedule, with no late nights or on-call shifts. Prior OR experience or CST certification is preferred, and training may be provided for strong LPN/MA/COA backgrounds.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years of hospital main operating room experience preferred.
• CST or other Surgical Technician certifications preferred.
• Experienced Surgical Technician is highly preferred. Training may be provided for strong LPN, Medical Assistant, or COA backgrounds.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Favorable background check and proof of work authorization in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties ethically and legally within certification scope.
• Complies with HIPAA regulations.
• Scrubs all types of cases and anticipates Surgeon needs.
• Keeps instrument and supply readiness for procedures.
• Operates OR equipment and assists with patient transfer to PACU.
• Aids in OR setup, clean up and restocking.
