Job summary

Mercy Health seeks a Speech Language Pathologist for Lorain Hospital in a PRN, as-needed capacity. You will evaluate and treat pediatric to geriatric patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders, and develop plans based on physician referrals.

You’ll educate patients and families, coordinate with the care team, and participate in ongoing education and clinical supervision as needed.

Qualifications

• Licensed Speech Language Pathologist in the state of practice required.
• CCC-SLP certification preferred at hire; required within one year.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred upon hire; required within 30 days in some locations.

Responsibilities

• Review referrals and patient history to determine therapy needs.
• Perform evaluations, re-evaluations, and discharge planning.
• Plan and administer speech-language therapy treatments.
• Develop treatment plans based on physician prescriptions and evaluation data.
• Instruct patients and families on home therapy procedures.
