Job summary

Choice Health At Home in Peoria, AZ is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to assess and treat dysphagia, cognitive, speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. You may select alternative communication systems and educate families on techniques and strategies.

Responsibilities include evaluating test results, developing treatment plans, participating in meetings, and teaching communication strategies. Requires CPR, a valid driver’s license, and relevant care experience.

Qualifications

• 1 year of rehab experience preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Valid Auto Insurance required.
• Long Term Care experience preferred.
• HomeCare HomeBase experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer and evaluate hearing or speech and language test results, diagnosis and plan treatment for speech, language, fluency, voice, or swallowing disorders.
• Develop or implement treatment plans for problems such as stuttering, delayed language, swallowing disorders, or inappropriate pitch or harsh voice problems.
• Participate in and write reports for meetings regarding patients' progress (IEP, in-service, or intervention meetings).
• Instruct clients in techniques for more effective communication (sign language, lip reading, or voice improvement).
• Educate patients and family members about communication techniques or strategies to cope with misunderstandings.
• Develop speech exercise programs to reduce disabilities.
• Teach clients to control or strengthen tongue, jaw, face muscles, or breathing mechanisms.
• Supervise or collaborate with the therapy team.
