Qualifications

Speech Language Pathologist

CommuniCare Rehab, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, has a PRN opening for a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at Pleasant Valley Healthcare Center, where our therapists are In-House Team Members.

Qualifications:

• Must have a Bachelor's and/or a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an Accredited Program.
• Hold a valid or pending State Speech Language Pathology License

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Evaluate, review, and screen patients'/residents' medical charts, evaluations under physician order, and develop a treatment plan according to the patient’s needs.
• Plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative treatment programs to improve communication, swallowing, and cognitive problems, as well as administer, score, and interpret specialized speech tests.
• Instruct residents, families, and caregivers on monitoring speech, practicing new skills, diet recommendations, and modifications for safe swallowing techniques.
• Attend/Lead interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate to relay clinical findings and make recommendations to other rehab team members, and participate in family meetings/education.
