Job summary

CommuniCare Health in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a PRN Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to support Pleasant Ridge Healthcare Center. You will assess and treat residents with communication, swallowing, and cognitive needs under physician orders, developing individualized plans and documenting progress.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an Accredited Program.
• Speech Therapy License (Required).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, review, and screen residents' medical charts and evaluations; develop treatment plans.
• Plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative treatment programs to improve communication, swallowing, and cognitive skills.
• Administer, score, and interpret specialized speech tests.
• Instruct residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide practice strategies.
• Instruct and educate residents, families, and caregivers on diet recommendations and safe swallowing techniques.
• Maintain patient records accurately and timely; ensure confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
• Attend/lead interdisciplinary meetings to relay findings and make recommendations.
