Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in SLP from an accredited program.
• Virginia State Speech Pathology License or Compact Privilege required; ASHA certification or completion within 15 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapy services including evaluation, plan of care, treatment, education, and documentation.
• Supervise therapy assistants, technicians, students, and volunteers as applicable.
• Communicate with other health care providers regarding client care and treatment plans.
• Provide training and education for hospital staff as requested.
• Complete patient documentation to meet regulatory and organizational requirements.
• Attend continuing education programs and present findings to staff.
• Review insurance authorization requirements for patients in a timely manner.
• Assist with performance improvement for rehab department and hospital.
• Understand use and precautions of treatments and equipment used.
• Positively contribute to departmental financial performance/productivity.
