Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Virginia State Speech Pathology License or Compact Privilege required.
• ASHA certification or completion of ASHA certification within 15 months of hire.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapy services aligned with licensure, including evaluation, plan of care, treatment, and documentation.
• Supervise therapy assistants, technicians, students, and volunteers as applicable.
• Communicate with other health care providers about client care and treatment plans.
• Provide training/education for hospital staff as requested.
• Complete patient documentation in a timely manner to meet regulatory requirements.
• Attend continuing education programs and present findings to staff as applicable.
• Review insurance authorization requirements for patients promptly.
• Contribute to rehab department and hospital performance improvement.
