Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia is seeking a Speech Therapist to provide licensure-compliant therapy services and collaborate with the care team. The role includes evaluating patients, planning and delivering treatment, and documenting care for regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• Education: Master\'s Degree (MS or M. Ed) from an accredited SLP program.
• Experience: No experience necessary.
• Licensure: Virginia State Speech Pathology License or Compact Privilege; ASHA certification or completion within 15 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapy services consistent with licensure to clients, including evaluation of patient and establishing plan of care.
• Implement treatment and educate patient and/or caregiver; document care.
• Supervise therapy assistants, technicians, students, and volunteers as applicable.
• Communicate with other health care providers regarding client care and treatment plans.
• Complete patient documentation timely to meet regulatory requirements and assist with insurance authorizations.
