Job summary

Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS, seeks a Speech Language Pathologist PRN to provide patient-centered care for communication, cognitive, and swallowing impairments. You will assess patients, set goals, and educate families and staff as part of the care team.

The role requires KS licensure, CCC-SLP, and BLS. You will collaborate with the Rehab Director and physicians to determine appropriate placements and ensure high-quality therapy services.

Qualifications

• Licensed as Speech-Language Pathologist in Kansas.
• CCC-SLP certification through ASHA.
• Current BLS verification for healthcare providers.
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a subjective assessment of patients' speech-language abilities during spontaneous conversation.
• Administer objective tests to assess communication assets and liabilities.
• Structure and implement individualized therapy programs to improve communication.
• Evaluate patient progress regularly and adjust treatment as needed.
• Document progress, notes, charges, discharge notes, and patient communications.
• Consult with Program Director and Rehab Physician/Medical Director regarding pre-screen assessments and placements.
