Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Identify, prevent, diagnose, treat, educate and discharge planning for patients with feeding, swallowing, communication and/or cognitive disorders.
• Evaluate swallow, feeding, communication and cognitive status in patient environment.
• Develop and implement written treatment plans based on evaluations.
• Document all patient-related activities clearly and timely.
• Provide discharge planning and summaries.
• Educate family, patients, physicians, healthcare staff, students, and others within scope of practice.
• Supervise Speech Language Pathology students during clinical affiliations.

Master of Arts or Science in Speech Language Pathology

Certificate of Clinical Competence through ASHA in Speech Language Pathology

Current Speech Language Pathology licensure in the state of Kansas

Basic Life Support (BLS) verification
