Job summary

MedStar Health's Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, is seeking a PRN Speech Language Therapist to provide a full range of diagnostic and rehabilitative services for patients with speech, language and swallowing disorders. You will test, evaluate, plan, and develop therapy modalities tailored to each patient’s abilities.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will document in accordance with standards, coordinate treatment schedules, and educate patients and families.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Ability to obtain SLP licensure in DC before starting.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• 1-2 years of related clinical experience in acute care or rehabilitation (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provides direct speech, language, and swallowing evaluations and re-evaluations, setting goals and discharge recommendations.
• Documents using department standards and coordinates scheduling of patient treatment.
• Maintains department equipment and supplies.
• Collaborates with physicians, patients, families, and care team for discharge planning.
• Maintains CEUs per state requirements and complies with regulations.
