Job summary

MedStar Health is looking for a PRN Speech Language Therapist to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. You will provide a full range of diagnostic and rehabilitative services for patients with speech-language and swallowing disorders, perform tests, evaluations, planning and development of therapy modalities based on each patient’s abilities and needs.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Ability to gain SLP licensure in DC before beginning.
• BLS (Basic Life Support).
• 1-2 years related clinical practice experience in an acute care or rehabilitation facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct speech, language, and swallowing evaluations and re-evaluations with goals and discharge planning.
• Documents using department forms and PM&R standards; prioritizes patient treatment schedule.
• Maintains proper use and care of department equipment and supplies.
• Collaborates with physicians, patients, families and health care team for effective discharge planning.
• Maintains CEUs per state requirements and adheres to health regulations.
