Job summary

Stern Therapy Consultants is seeking a PRN Speech-Language Pathologist at Autumn Lake at Cherry Hill in Cherry Hill, NJ. You will assess and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in a skilled nursing setting to help residents engage in daily life.

The role emphasizes individualized goals, dysphagia treatment, and collaboration with nursing and dietary staff. An active NJ SLP license is required; geriatric rehabilitation experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong assessment and treatment skills for adult communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Effective teamwork and clear, timely clinical documentation.
• Skilled nursing or geriatric rehabilitation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing function to identify treatment needs.
• Establish individualized goals that reflect residents' abilities and rehabilitation priorities.
• Provide interventions that support expressing needs, understanding information, memory, and functional problem-solving.
• Deliver dysphagia treatment and coordinate swallowing recommendations with nursing and dietary staff.
• Teach residents, families, and caregivers practical strategies to use outside treatment sessions.
• Document evaluations and progress, adjust care plans, and participate in interdisciplinary discharge planning.
