Job summary

UNM Hospitals in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Staff Sonographer to provide diagnostic ultrasound services under the delegated authority of a supervising physician. You will perform exams, prepare preliminary findings, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.

The role involves rotating shifts with multiple night/weekend coverage and potential on-call duties. Required qualifications include an Associate Degree and ARDMS or equivalent ultrasound certification, with CPR/BLS and state

Qualifications

• Associate degree in diagnostic medical sonography or an equivalent program.
• Certification and licensure as required (ARDMS or Ultrasound Certification).
• CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• NM Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Licensure (NMMIRT).
• Breast certification within 12 months of hire.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts including on-call and related exposure precautions.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic medical sonography examinations and prepare preliminary findings.
• Ensure patient safety and adherence to facility policies.
• Review patient history and coordinate with supervising radiologist.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and quality assurance procedures.
• Carry out QA protocols and maintain accurate facility reports.
